The Stone House in Portugal

A Casa do Penedo, or "the House of Stone," was built between four large boulders in the Fafe Mountains of northern Portugal. Though it is in a remote area of the country, the house is not lacking in amenities, which include a fireplace and a swimming pool, carved out of one large rock. Inside the house, the furniture is made of stone, while stairs and railings are made of logs. The house was built in 1974 as a family's rural retreat.
